Research Questions 1. To what extent does immediate feedback using ICT in lower sec Science help student improve in understanding the concept of forces.
2. To what extent does explicit feedback on time markers improve the students use of tenses in writing tasks.
31.3.2010 2E – 202 and 203 will be used. 203 will be the control group. 3N – 313 is the control group / 314 is the experimental group Method – to count the number of Tense errors in Personal recount. To teach time markers explicitly to 202 / 313. To count count tense errors in descriptive writing. To measure differences in number of tense errors between control groups and experimental groups.
7.4.2010 Discussed the methodology and how to report results. To use the T test to compare the difference in the mean. To write out methodology for both English [ Azlan / Farhani ] and Science [ Hisham ]. Science – Pretest – on rate and speed graphs – using immediate feedback as a means of intervention. Post test - PAL
14.4.2010 Science – realtime feedback during HBL on 20.4.2010 for ½ the class. Post test will be the PAL on 21.4.2010 English – sec 2E – pretest, intervention and post test conducted. Feedback / edmodo discussed. Prepare the methodology in the blog.
21.4.2010 Discussion on Sc aspect of the study - to track quality of questions asked and the repetitive questions. For English - pre-test has been completed. Post test scheduled.
25.5.2010 Items were analysed using the descriptive writing from sec 2 for Sec3 NA - Pretest was a PAL letter & post test would be exam letter Methods of calculation using the differences in the mean of the pre and post test were discussed.
29.6.2010 Preliminary findings show that 3NA results were not conclusive
Sc - encountered difficulties in getting students to access web to give on-line feedback or seek help
